National Bank of Kenya brand identity
National Bank of Kenya needed to develop their brand to align with their objective of transforming the business from a bureaucratic, inefficient, governmental-owned parastatal bank to a modern, efficient and customer-focused bank of first choice. And, regain their position as one of the top five banks in Kenya within three to five years. Derived from the geometrics that are prevalent in all African art and crafts, Interbrand Africa developed a simple, contemporary and boldly African brandmark and visual language. These drove the design of modern, clean and effective collateral and retail banking interiors that are unique and differentiated in a highly competitive market. Both public and media reaction to the new National Bank brand has been extremely positive, along with the interest generated by the greatly improved business profitability reported in the third quarter of 2013. National Bank was recognised recently in several categories at the 2014 Think Business Banking Awards in Kenya. In addition, The National Bank identity gained recognition with a Distinction Award in the 2104 Rebrand 100 Global Awards.
